5 Valid Reasons on Why Joining IKEA Family Will Make You And Your Wallet Happy

treatingtrickster

I am always a fan of membership, especially the ones that doesn't have any fee to apply. So when I know that becoming IKEA Family is FREE, I am more than happy to get it.

And I'm not gonna lie, having IKEA Family membership does help me still enjoying my time in IKEA while getting through the increasing inflation in Malaysia.

The question is:

How does IKEA Family can help you?

1. FREE COFFEE FOR YOU AND YOUR BESTIE

I kid you not, you will get free coffee not for you alone. When you wave your IKEA Family card/e-card, you can redeem up to two cups of coffee for free! So you will save RM5 instantly! (Or more if you don't mind sharing cup with your fam.)

Did I tell you that it is refillable premium, filter coffee? For me, that cup of joe is much better than 3-in-1 coffee. (Psstt... if you don't like coffee, you can just refill your cup with other refillable beverages. Ain't anybody will get mad at you.)

2. CATCH'EM POINTS AND USE THEM AS EASY AS ABC

I know, I know. This is basic as its best. But compared to other membership that I have (e.g : Lotus Supermarket, Ben Independent Grocer), it is easy to get and use the points.

Why?

Because usually we visits IKEA to buy furniture, and IKEA is not stingy in giving points.

Just swipe or scan your IKEA Family card/e-card. You will get 1 point for every RM1 you spent (not only at the IKEA store, but also at Swedish Restaurant, Swedish Food Market, Swedish Cafe and IKEA online stores).

When it reaches 500 points, you will earn RM5. And if you want, you can redeem it instantly when you checkout in the stores (only in multiples of 500 points). If not, you can continue collecting the points. But beware: the points will expire two years later on 31 Dec, based on the year the IKEA Family points were earned.

TLDR:

RM1 spent = 1 point

500 points accumulated = RM5

535 points accumulated = can only redeem 500 points = RM5

2500 points = RM25

*If points earned on 3 Sept 2022, the points will expire on 31 Dec 2024

3. SPECIAL PRICE GOODIES ONLY FOR IKEA FAMILY

Have you ever wandered around IKEA store and found big blue-labelled price banner displayed on some products? If so, congratulations! You have unlocked: IKEA Family Only Price. Just swipe/scan your card/e-card, and you will get the discounted price.
